Homecoming

Posted by dale on Wed, 06 Oct 2004 20:12:25 EST

Well I’ve just returned from my holiday to Jervis Bay. With another 100km on my speedometer; quite a nice break away from everything. We stayed with another family and were situated here:

Anyway so I get back home to find two distraught cats, about 350 emails (not including spam), a dead router (or at least I think it is dead, shall need to look at it), half a screen of RSS updates and about 10mb of firewall log files. It’s great to be back! ;)

Holidays were great as it gave me a chance to catch up on some largish books I’ve been reading. Plus I got some work done too :)

I was successful in posting a comment on this site from my phone! I wasn’t sure if it had worked as the GPRS kept dropping out (obviously it had). It was easier to make phone calls rather than sms people! The horror!!! :p

I’m glad to say that the internet connection didn’t drop out. Although I hacked up my Smoothwall box just before I left so there shouldn’t have been any problems anyway.

/back to the holidays. Whilst I was driving around I realised how much I missed driving a manual (I was in dad’s forester). I don’t know automatics are just so boring. You don’t have as much control over the car. Anywho, it doesn’t really matter. If it gets you from point A to B :p

Anyway I will post some more later, maybe. Off to catch up on RSS and emails :|
