Standalone Internet Explorer

When testing websites it is always a good idea to check your site in more than one browser. Windows will normally only let you have one IE version installed at a time so it can be hard to test your site on say IE 5 and IE 6 (unless you have another computer). Although it is very possible to have more than one version.

I found this site here: http://www.skyzyx.com/downloads/

You are able to download the following and run them without needing to install them:

Internet Explorer 3.0
Internet Explorer 4.01
Internet Explorer 5.01 SP2
Internet Explorer 5.5 SP2

I just tried this site in IE 4 (comes with win 95 B or C) and it screws up a bit. The copyright grey strip is moved up to the right and some of the text isn't centered. But apart from that it is okay. Remember IE 4 doesn't support the latest CSS.

This is really useful for when designing websites (although most people are running IE 6). I'm off to try the other versions (IE 3 should be fun!!!).

EDIT: Just tried IE 3. ROFLMAO. Although the interface is really nice!!! This site works well in IE 5.5. Screws up a little in IE 5.0 and 4 (but both work ok).
