Yet another incredibly busy week, which seems to be happening more often since UNI started.
I’ve applied for a scholarship for a free trip to America to go to the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco. UTS often gets these scholarship places every year and I was told that I should try out.
There are only very limited places so I have no idea what my chances are, but I would really love to go. I should find out if I have received a place on April 6th. So I’ll let everyone know.
Thursday was a very busy day! A group of us from School decided it would be a good idea to catch up with everyone. We’re trying to do something at least once a month, it is really hard to stay in touch with uni and stuff.
So we all went off to yum cha and had some great food (mango pancakes anyone?!). After that we decided to head over to the Star Bar in George Street and give that a shot (pun intended).
I then needed to rush off to work to setup a Laptop for someone who is going overseas to do some development work at a goldmine in Papa New Guinea (I think). Just a quick note. Access 97 DOES NOT work on Windows XP. I tried, it doesn’t work at all.
I then headed off to uni for a “meeting” with the programmers society. Which, as always ended up in us just getting pizzas and talking about nerdy stuff. Although I have been nominated as the Vice-President for the society. Which I wasn’t expecting, but hey. Cool. Thanks guys.
I didn’t get home until about 11pm that day.
Yesterday I held a small lan party for some uni friends. The game of the day was Battlefield Vietnam. Quite a fun game. It even run okay on my old Pentium 3 that I setup.
After that I went to the “Year 13 cocktails night” at the Star Bar again. I’m not sure why they call it “Year 13” because I know for sure I don’t go to St. Andrew’s. Oh well. It was a great time. We got to meet up with heaps of people from Year 12 2004. Lots of people ended up coming, more than I expected.
Everyone had a bit too much to drink (that’s what happens when the drinks are free) and I didn’t get home until about 1am this morning.
Wow, big week. But it has been very enjoyable. Now I probably should do some work this weekend. :)
I got home at 11:30pm, didn't get to sleep until 1:30am and woke up at 6:30am for Tennis.
To put it simply, I was fucked.
Let me know if you go to the Apple Developer's Conference.. I am considering it too...
